JUSTICE Minster David Ford has launched the annual Justice in the Community Awards.
The awards are now in their second year and the Minister has urged the people of Newtownabbey to get involved by nominating someone who they feel has made an outstanding contribution in helping to make the borough a safer place.
“There are many exceptional people within our community working selflessly to make local communities safer, reduce offending or support victims of crime for the benefit of the entire community. But their commitment and determination often goes unrecognised,” Mr Ford commented.
“The successful introduction of the Justice Awards last year highlighted the commitment and work of volunteers and statutory organisations and I’m sure there are many more who would be deserving of an award as Justice Champion,” the South Antrim MLA added.
Awards to the value of £500 will be made to three Justice Champions who are working to support the delivery and effectiveness of justice. For further information and nomination forms log on to www.nidirect.gov.uk/justiceawards
