The Roads Service has said it will resurface the Ballyclare Road in Glengormley in the coming years.
At last month’s Planning meeting Councillor Robert Hill called for the Roads Service to inspect the condition of the carriageway after NI Water carried extensive work along the stretch of the carriageway.
Councillor Hill said the road was in a “poor patchwork state” and called for utility companies to be made to restore roads to their original condition.
This week the Roads Service reported back to councillors saying the reinstatement of the work by NI Water and its contractor reached the required standard set by its code of practice.
It also said it will be carrying out major resurfacing works in the coming years.
