Ballyclare students fly off for Stateside exchange

Two Ballyclare students are spending three weeks in the USA as part of the Sister Cities Student Exchange Programme.

Matthew Audley and Ruby Irvine from Ballyclare Secondary School and Ballyclare High School jetted off this week to Gilbert in Phoenix, Arizona.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Cllr Thomas Hogg said : “This year sees the student exchange programme celebrating 15 years and during this time many local students have been given the fantastic opportunity to travel and develop an understanding of a different country, its culture and people.

“I wish Matthew and Ruby an amazing trip and hope they come back to the borough enriched from this exciting experience.”

Matthew and Ruby will experience the American way of life by staying with a host family.They will then return with two students from Gilbert.
