The Christmas Tree Festival held at Ballynure Presbyterian Church raised the amazing total of £10,000, which will be split between two good causes.

The event, organised by Ballynure & District Friendship Club, attracted hundreds of visitors to the church between November 28 and December 1, 2013.

At their monthly meeting last Friday, members of the Friendship Club presented The Alzheimer’s Society with a cheque for £5,000.

The remainder of the money will go towards the Church Building Fund (£2,500) and the purchase of new heaters, tables, noticeboards and a new sign.
