Four local Beaver Scout Colonies - 1st Monkstown, 1st Ballyclare, 1st Jordanstown and 1st Whitehouse - attended the Beaver Scouts’ Northern Ireland Rally in Co Down last Saturday.

In rain, hail, gales and sunshine, more than 1,000 Beaver Scouts descended on the NI Scout Centre in Crawfordsburn Country Park.

The boys and girls aged six - eight years played games, competed in tug-o-war, got creative with crafting skills, watched a puppet theatre show and generally enjoyed themselves.

Not content to just have a great day out, the Beavers from 1st Whitehouse camped overnight and returned home on the Sunday.
