‘Belfast in the Year of the Titanic’ talk

ON APRIL 11, 1912 the Titanic arrived in Queenstown, Cork before setting sail on her ill fated voyage to New York.

And on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, Abbey Historical Society is welcoming to its April meeting, the well known historian, author and museum librarian, Roger Dixon, who will give an illustrated talk on ‘Belfast in the Year of the Titanic’.

Chair of Abbey Historical Society, Vikki Dundas, said the Society were thrilled to welcome Roger to the White House, particularly at a time when 1912 is at the forefront of people’s minds and a great many events are taking place on both sides of the Atlantic in commemoration of those who died on the great ship.

Visitors are very welcome to attend this talk at the White House, Whitehouse Park at 7.30pm on Wednesday, April 11.
