Benefit fraudster claimed £11,000

A RATHCOOLE man has been convicted of claiming more than £11,000 in benefits that he was not entitled to.

At Belfast Magistrates Court on Tuesday (April 17), Noel Armstrong (56), of Inniscarn Drive, was given 180 hours community service and ordered to pay court costs of £37 for failing to declare his partner’s employment while claiming Income Support totalling £11,206.

He is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
