BALLYCLARE beauty Natalie Brittle will take on 14 other want-to-be models in the final of the Belfast’s Next Top Model competition tonight (Thursday, March 1) - despite a serious injury which means she may not be able to walk.
Brave Natalie, who broke two bones in her right foot when she “went over” in her high heels during a night out, was due to get her plaster cast removed the day before the final.
Speaking to the Times earlier this week, the former Miss Northern Ireland contestant was still determined to compete for the chance to be Ulster’s new face of fashion, but said she still didn’t know whether or not she’d be able to strut her stuff on the catwalk.
“People were emailing me saying ‘Ah well, that’s you out of the modelling competition now’, but it takes more than a broken foot to stop me,” she said.
The 24-year-old mother-of-one, from Ballycorr Road, won through six heats of the competition before securing success in last week’s semi-final, despite turning up to the event on crutches. She’s now hoping to go all the way and win the top prize - a modelling contract with a top agency, as well as a professional portfolio, hair products and designer clothes.
“I was about 11th out of 15 to be read out, so I was getting worried. But I’m very happy to be in the final,” she added.
