Paul Scott of Glengormley-based Safe Gas NI accepts the award for Domestic Contractor of The Year from Andrew Sands of Calor Gas, category sponsor.

Local company Safe Gas NI celebrated its 10th anniversary by winning the Domestic Contractor of the Year title at the recent Northern Ireland Plumbing & Heating Awards.

The recognition marks the huge strides that husband and wife team, Paul and Victoria Scott, have made since starting the business in their kitchen in 2004.

The company now has its own business premises in Glengormley. It employs 12 people, including six full time plumbers/gas engineers and two apprentices.

Speaking about the award, Paul commented: “We are over the moon and this is the perfect way to celebrate our 10th anniversary in business. Our main goal has always been to simply keep our customers happy by completing work in a safe and reliable manner and we see winning this award as recognition of achieving this.”

Through investing in a new technology system including a text and email service, Safe Gas NI provide an enhanced standard of customer service.

Paul added: “The systems we have in place make a significant difference to how we deal with customers and it is something that we plan to build on further. Future plans also include opening our own showroom with fully operational appliances, including gas fires, gas tumble dryers and gas boilers.”

Congratulating the local business on their award success, Mayor Thomas Hogg said: “I am delighted to congratulate Safe Gas NI on achieving this award. It is wonderful to hear that we have such a highly regarded business operating in the local area.”
