Former Glengormley High School pupil Martyn Boyd has become a multiple winner at the Green Apple Awards in London.

His publishing company, UB Media, now based in Bangor, won Green Apple Environment Awards for Best Environmental Practice to the Built Environment, in the national campaign to find Britain’s greenest companies, councils and communities.

They competed against more than 200 other nominees and were presented with both gold and bronze awards at a glittering presentation ceremony in The Empire Casino, Leicester Square, London recently.

The judges commended UB Media for creating high quality, cross platform products with the latest technology.

“Reducing printed copies each month, and increasing awareness and readership of the digital magazine, has increased the viewing figures year on year,” the judges commented.

As a result of this success, UB Media have been invited to have their winning paper published in The Green Book, the leading international work of reference on environmental best practice, so that others around the world can follow their example and learn from their experience.

“We are over the moon to receive these awards for our company. We are still young company, to come away with gold and bronze awards is yet another feather in our cap” said Martyn Boyd.

“The fact that we are now a multi-award winning company only confirms our ethos of saving companies money by delivering a cost-effective way to market your company in a digital format.

“Our ‘Yourdigibook’ concept, delivers an interactive digital platform for companies to have their own digital catalogue, saving on printing costs and distribution.”
