Finance Minister Simon Hamilton MLA and his predecessor Sammy Wilson MP MLA addressed a crowd of more than one hundred local business people at the DUP South Antrim Association’s second annual Business Breakfast, held in the Dunadry Hotel last week.
South Antrim MP, Dr William McCrea and MLAs Pam Brown, Paul Girvan and Trevor Clarke enjoyed the event with councillors and local traders.
Speaking at the event, Ms Brown said: “The Business Breakfast has been a major success and is quickly becoming a permanent fixture in many calendars.
“Last year we tested the waters with our first event and had a crowd of some 60 people representing a variety of businesses from within the constituency. This year we doubled that number which I think is evidence that the DUP recognises its responsibility to local and national trade and industry and also that business is keen to engage with government.”
She added: “South Antrim is a real hub of economic activity with many major businesses bringing jobs and investment into our local and national economy and we as politicians must listen to their views and offer as much support as we can.”
