A planned extension at the Dunnes Stores retail unit at the Abbeycentre has been approved by the council’s Planning Committee.
The plans will see an extra 576 sq/m of retail space being created at the Longwood Road shopping centre.
A total of 57 new car parking spaces will also be created, bringing the total number of available parking spaces at the centre to 1,164.
The application was approved at the meeting of the Planning Committee at Mossley Mill on Monday, March 14.
The approval was proposed by Cllr Trevor Beatty, seconded by his DUP party colleague, Cllr Thomas Hogg and agreed by members.
There is currently ongoing construction work taking place at Abbeycentre on a new, larger Next store.
