Green light for over 340 new homes in Glengormley

Work is set to commence on a major new housing development in Glengormley after approval was granted by the council's Planning Committee.

The development comprising 348 dwellings will be located on land between 112 and 120 Hightown Road.

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council’s Planning Committee took the decision to grant approval at the March meeting.

Under the conditions set out by the local authority, no more than 55 houses and 12 apartments in the development shall be occupied before improvements of the Hightown Road/ Upper Hightown Road/ Hydepark Road have been completed.

Work on traffic signals as well as a CCTV camera being installed at the junction of the Hightown Road and Antrim Road also has to completed before more than 55 houses and 12 apartments are occupied.

Work on the development has to be started before March 30 2017.
