Green light given for Mallusk warehouse

The council's Planning Committee has granted planning permission for a new warehouse and associated developments in Mallusk.

The successful application by John Henderson Ltd paves the way for the construction of a new storage and distribution warehouse on the footprint of an existing distribution centre at 20 Mallusk Road.

The plan also involves the development of new offices, staff welfare facilities and a sprinkler tank, as well as the creation of associated parking and access arrangements.

The proposed site comprises a rectangular plot of approximately 3.7 hectares located within an area characterised by a range of large industrial properties set on substantial plots and some smaller business premises. It is bound on three sides by existing roads including Mallusk Road and Mallusk Drive.

The warehouse development must be started before the expiration of five years from the date of the planning permission.
