Local builders win NHBC Pride in the Job Awards

Three local builders have been honoured for their dedication to building homes of exceptional quality in the first round of the annual NHBC Pride in the Job Awards.

Paddy Holland, of Alskea Ltd, won the award for his management of the Cottonmount Manor site in Mallusk. Alan White, of Wilson & Mawhinney, won for his management of the The Old Mill site in Whiteabbey, while Robert McCormick, of RFB Developments Ltd, won for his management of the Glenavna site in Whiteabbey. They were among almost 450 Quality Award winners from across the UK.

Now in its 36th year, Pride in the Job celebrates the exceptional contribution site managers make in creating homes of outstanding quality. As well as undergoing spot checks on the day-to day running of their sites, each site manager is assessed across 37 areas of site management, including their technical knowledge, consistency in the build process and their quality controls.

With more than 16,000 site managers competing for the awards, this year’s Quality Award winners were hand-picked for their excellent standards on site.

David Little, Regional Director for NHBC, the UK’s leading standards setter and warranty provider for new homes, congratulated Paddy, Alan and Robert on their success.

As part of the year-long judging process, the Quality Award winners will now be shortlisted for Seals of Excellence and Regional titles, which will be revealed in the autumn. Regional winners will then go forward to contest the national Supreme Winner title in January.
