South Antrim MP Danny Kinahan has welcomed the announcement by aerospace firm RLC that it is creating a state-of-the-art production facility at Global Point Business Park.
The company’s £35million investment in the new manufacturing base at the Corr’s Corner site, an a major research and development project, is expected to create 80 high quality jobs.
“I am really pleased to see such a rubber stamp of economic approval for South Antrim. This is great news, bringing well-paid employment to the area and kick-starting the Global Point development,” the UUP man commented.
“RLC have previously put their faith in South Antrim with their site at Langford in Crumlin and as most investors will find, once established in South Antrim, we are a community well worth further investment.
“I look forward to working with companies such as RLC in finding ways to encourage further economic growth, particularly at locations like Global Point.”
Also welcoming the RLC investment, Alliance MLA David Ford said: “The creation of 80 new jobs and further investment in South Antrim must be welcomed. This is further vindication of the wide skill set, improving economic conditions and prospect of potential for future growth.
“Having already seen what this part of the world can offer through their site in Crumlin, RLC has given the economy of South Antrim a boost by expanding to Newtownabbey.
“It is great to see that companies investing in Northern Ireland continue to recognise South Antrim as a place to set up their business.”
