Newtownabbey Times readers have responded to last week’s story about the PSNI cracking down on speeding motorists on Bernice Road by calling on the police to extend their efforts to other areas.

Several readers contacted the Times to highlight areas where they believe speeding is a serious problem, causing a danger to pedestrians and other road users.

Problem areas suggested by readers include Manse Road, Mallusk Road, Carntall Road, Rashee Road and Hydepark Road.

Mallusk resident Craig Goodall commented: “The local community has urged this to happen on the Mallusk Road, particularly outside Mallusk Integrated PS, Hyde Park Road and Blackrock Boulevard. All these areas see regular speeding cars, HGVs and van drivers.”

Police have urged anyone with concerns about speeding in their area to contact them via the PSNI Newtownabbey Facebook page.
