Cars vandalised while owners attend funeral

Police investigating an incident of criminal damage during which a number of cars parked outside a church were “keyed” have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Sometime between 10.30am and 12.55pm on Thursday, October 23, a number of cars parked outside Carnmoney Parish Church, Church Road were damaged with a sharp implement.

It’s thought that the owners’ of the vehicles were attending a funeral service when the vandals struck.

Inspector Stephen McGuigan from the Newtownabbey Neighbourhood Team appealed for anyone with information about the incident to contact investigating officers on the non-emergency number, 101, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
