Lagan Search & Rescue (LSAR) has thanked the staff and customers of Bureau By The Lough for their kind donation of more than £300.

The Whiteabbey venue recently hosted a pub quiz and contributed generous prizes to help raise funds for vital lifesaving equipment.

LSAR is a newly formed, local charity dedicated to preserving life on the River Lagan with the provision of dedicated rescue boat crews, rescue swimmers and swift water rescue technicians. The charity also has an emergency medical response team, a kayak rescue team and land search technicians.

“The support from Bureau By The Lough will enable us to purchase additional equipment for our volunteers which will increase our ability to save lives and respond to crises,” said LSAR’s Simon Megaw.

Bureau owner, Damien Curran, said he was delighted to be able to support the rescue charity’s vital work.
