CCTV paedophile fears dismissed

THE council has approved the use of a CCTV system for the new £1.34 million Loughshore Park development after its Chief Executive dismissed fears that it could be targeted and hacked into by perverts.

At last week’s Development Committee meeting, councillors postponed a decision on the type of surveillance system it would use at the park after concerns were raised that a new CCTV system could be hacked into and its footage watched by paedophiles.

At Monday night’s council meeting, Chief Executive Jacqui Dixon assured members the new wireless system was secure.
