People living at Clanmil Housing’s Cedar Court independent living scheme in Whiteabbey took part in an armchair aerobics session on Thursday (September 29) to celebrate International Active Ageing Week.

International Active Ageing Week, which ran from September 26 - 30, is an annual event organised by the International Council of Active Ageing to promote the health and social benefits of staying active throughout life by helping older people try out activities and exercise in a safe, friendly and fun way.

Colette Moore, Director of Housing at Clanmil, explained: “At Clanmil we encourage our tenants to continue to lead active lives as they grow older and we are delighted that tenants at Cedar Court are so enthusiastic about keeping fit. Activities and interests such as this help keep both body and mind active and also bring tenants together to enjoy each other’s company.”
