'COFFIN DODGERS' have made an appeal to council chiefs to keep vital staff at Ballyearl gym.
Rumours have been circulating among members that the council is planning to reduce the amount of supervision in the centre's fitness suite.
The council has said a review of staff levels was underway, but no decision had been made.
Regular gym users, Lorna and John Millar have appealed to the council to keep the staff.
"We have been going for the past three or four years and we really enjoy the gym," said 63-year-old Lorna.
"It's the staff that make the difference for us, there are three of them and they make the gym and keeping fit a real enjoyment.
"There is a real community atmosphere and I believe it's down to the supervisors.
"They are always on hand to offer advice or help to any of us. Over the past few years they have transformed the place," she added.
