A spokesperson said: “It is with sadness the EADCC has decided, due to the economic climate and the decline in attendance, that it will no longer be holding toy fairs. The club, which was formed in 1985, was the first in Northern Ireland to hold such events, which proved to be a huge success and continued to be for 30 years. However, the past few years has seen a decline in the number of collectors attending the fairs. The members would like to thank all our loyal dealers and customers who have supported us.

“Special thanks goes to the management and staff of the Sixmile Leisure Centre, Ballyclare, for making us welcome and we couldn’t have wished for a better venue to end with. Despite the cessation of the fairs, the club will continue to meet on the third Wednesday of each month at 8pm at the Knockagh Lodge. New members are always welcome.”
