NEWTOWNABBEY Borough Council was among 28 organisations from across Northern Ireland which recently received the prestigious Investors in People (IiP) Good Practice Award for Health and Wellbeing.

Speaking about the achievement, Mayor Billy Webb commented: “Once again Newtownabbey Borough Council has been recognised as an organisation which invests in its most important resource - the people at the heart of it. On this occasion we have been awarded for our commitment to the health and wellbeing of our staff. I would like to thank all those who were involved in the vigorous assessment process.”

Investors in People has long been acknowledged as the most successful framework for business improvement through people. Last year the council celebrated its 10 year anniversary of the Investors in People learning and development standard, which is awarded to well-run organisations which demonstrate good management practice with a high emphasis on best practice, people management and development.
