County Antrim Royal Black present cheques to charities
The parade was hosted by Ballyclare Royal Black District Chapter, who recently organised a social evening to distribute the total £5,250 to good causes.
The chapter’s officers and Sir Knights hosted guests from across the county, civic dignitaries and representatives of the nominated charities at the event in Ballyclare’s McCalmont Memorial Orange Hall.

Hide AdThe money was raised from the sale of booklets during the August 30 demonstration.
The sum of £1,500 each was presented to CLIC Sargent, Friends of the Cancer Centre and AA Veterans Support.
A further cheque for £750, which had been raised separately, was presented to Ross Patterson and his parents Claire and David for their CLIC Sargent appeal in Ross’s name.
As well as the cheque presentations, gifts were presented to Newtownabbey mayor Alderman Thomas Hogg and the Sovereign Grand Master of The Royal Black Institution, Most Worshipful Sir Knight Miller Farr, QPM.
