THERE was anger and revulsion as a series of bomb alerts caused wide-spread disruption in the borough during the morning and evening rush hours of Friday, May 27.
Two alerts disrupted early morning traffic on different parts of the Antrim Road.
A hoax device closed the road between the Maxol garage and Sandyknowes Roundabout around 8.30am but police were able to re-open the road just before 9am.
Shortly afterwards police closed another part of the busy road when a device was discovered behind the Santander bank in Glengormley.
Patients had to be turned away from the nearby health centre as Army Technical Officers dealt with the object.
A suspicious object also closed the Abbey Retail Park around the same time as police investigated. All three were declared hoaxes.
Many business owners and shoppers expressed their anger over the disruption caused.
