ROYAL Mail is urging all customers to make a note of this year's latest recommended posting dates for Christmas mail.
The final posting dates for UK mail are as follows: 1st class - Tuesday 21 December, 2nd class - Saturday 18, Special Delivery items - Thursday 23.
For international mail the following posting dates apply: Japan, USA, Canada and Eastern Europe - Friday 10, Western Europe - Monday 13.
The last date for posting items to South and Central America, the Caribbean, Africa, Middle East, Far East, Asia, New Zealand and Australia was Monday, December 6.
"To help ensure festive greetings and presents arrive safely and on time, senders should remember to write the address clearly and correctly, use the postcode, include a return address, ensure the items are properly wrapped and affix the correct postage," a Royal Mail spokesman said.
