STAFF at the Dulux Decorator Centre, Abbey Trading Estate, donated £500 to the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice recently.

As a reward for all their hard work during the year, team members at Dulux Decorator Centres in Newtonabbey were given the opportunity to make a charitable donation to a worthwhile cause which was close to their hearts.

They chose the Children’s Hospice, which is based less than two miles from the Dulux Decorator Centre and cares for children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, as well as supporting their families and those close to them.

Cliona Dudgeon, corporate fundraiser for the Children’s Hospice, said: “We are very grateful for Dulux Decorator Centre’s generous donation. The charity plays such an important role within the local community so it is great to be supported by a popular local business.

“We will certainly put the money to good use. With over 600 children and young people depending on the hospice’s services, we rely heavily on kind donations like these.”

Jonathan McFarlane, territory store manager at the Dulux Decorator Centre, said: “When we were given the opportunity to make a donation to a local worthwhile cause, the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice was certainly the natural choice.

“It feels good to give something back and we hope the donation will help bring a smile to the faces of the children at the hospice.”
