The Group feel a week is not long enough for the Red Squirrel in the Glens, so during this month of October their dedicated volunteers are running a number of walks across the Glens to help people get out, stay healthy and enjoy our local forests and woodlands. And, with that, the added bonus of learning what to look for and the chance of even seeing some of our local and endangered red squirrels. You’re welcome to go along if you enjoy walking, wildlife and local wild areas.

The Glens Red Squirrel Group are working hard to help our local squirrels and want everyone to enjoy the work they do.

The best way to do this they say is to get out and get involved by taking part in their walks. These are being held throughout the month and include Glenarm Forest Walk on October 16 from 10am.

Other events are planned for the Cregagh Wood Hide, Cushendun, on October 1 between 8-10am and October 8 from 8am-12noon; the Cregagh Wood, Cushendun, walk on October 2, from St Patrick’s Church car park at 1.45pm. There will also be a quiz night at Larragh Lodge on October 14 at 7.30pm. To find out about all the events being held or book a place email [email protected]
