Welcoming the new ‘Puffin’ crossing on the Manse Road, South Antrim DUP MLA, Pam Cameron said: “I had been contacted by a number of concerned parents and guardians of children attending Mossley Primary with regard to road safety in and around the school.

“In June last year; following representations to TransportNI, I was delighted to see the installation of bollards at the Hazelburn Road entrance to the school which prevented drivers parking on the pavement and allowing pedestrians to walk to the school in a safe manner.

“The pedestrian entrance to the school on the Manse Road had continued to be a problem with the school relying on a ‘lollipop man’ to ensure that children were able to enter and exit the school safely.

“I am delighted to see the activation of a ‘Puffin’ crossing today (October 19) and hope that it will help the crossing staff in ensuring children get across the very busy Manse Road safely.”
