A NEW Mossley mother is in the running to be named one of the most inspirational women in the whole of the United Kingdom.

Fiona Storer is one of just three finalists in the ITV1 Lorraine Inspirational Woman of the Year award.

Voting for the nationwide competition opens today, and you can help our Fiona take this year’s title next week at a celebration lunch in London by logging on to the ITV website.

Fiona, 49, has been registered blind since the age of 15 but has not allowed her disability to hold her back.

She put herself through university, qualified as a social worker and now works as the Young Carers’ Co-ordinator at the 174 Trust in north Belfast.
