Former council chief named in ‘Rich List’

NEWTOWNABBEY Borough Council’s former Chief Executive was paid more than £100,000 in the 12 months before he left the post, according to the Taxpayers’ Alliance Town Hall Rich List 2011.

Norman Dunn, who served the council for more than 50 years in various roles, was awarded the Freedom of the Borough in 2009 and retired from his role with the local authority last March.

The former clerical assistant, who rose through the ranks at the council and went on to hold the chief executive’s post for 14 years, was one of three Northern Ireland council employees named in this year’s Town Hall Rich List as having earned over £100k.
