A FUNDING cut to the local Citizens Advice Bureau has been described as “devastating”.
At Monday night’s Development Committee meeting at Mossley Mill, councillors decided to provide £171,002 to the service this year, with that figure increasing in line with inflation for the next three years.
However, CAB Manager Pat Hutchinson said the funding cut represented around a third of the service’s budget, or £47,000.
“It is devastating and we are left with no other option but to turn people away each day once we have met our quota,” she said.
