Last minute preparations are under way for Autumnfest 2011, which kicks off in Ballyclare this weekend.

The two-day event takes place on Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29, with apple pie making, pumpkin carving and a scarecrow competition just some out the fun autumn events planned.

Lisa O’Kane, Newtownabbey Council’s Tourism and Events Manager, explains: “We’re encouraging everyone to get into the spirit of Autumnfest and get involved. There are lots of fun-filled activities including a magic show, bouncy castles and a wrestling extravaganza, with the ever popular speciality market once again back in the town Square.”

With entertainment for everyone, it’s an autumnal treat not to be missed and perfect for keeping the kids happy over the mid-term break. All events are free.

Autumnfest is being organised by Newtownabbey Borough Council and Ballyclare Chamber of Trade and is funded by Newtownabbey Borough Council. For more information log on to www.newtownabbey.gov.uk/autumnfest or follow ‘Ballyclare Autumnfest’ on Facebook.
