Belfast-born McCarthy, who is currently starring in Theatre at The Mill’s production ‘Jonathan Harker and Dracula,’ hosted a question and answer session with the local students.

The show, which is an adaptation of Bram Stoker’s masterpiece Dracula, sees Gerard McCarthy playing both Jonathan Harker, whose diaries chronicle the bloody tale, and supernatural character Dracula.

McCarthy is best known for his TV roles in The Fall, Hollyoaks, Vikings and new BBC comedy Puppy Love. He also recently starred in The Globe’s production of The Merry Wives Of Windsor in London.

Mayor of Newtownabbey Alderman Thomas Hogg commented: “Gerard very kindly took time out from his busy schedule to chat to the pupils and provide real insight to the rise of his success while also sharing technical and professional tips on stage and theatre performance.

“The pupils found their time with Gerard thoroughly worthwhile and appreciated the time he spent with them.”

Jonathan Harker and Dracula will run at Theatre at The Mill from September 18-27.
