Three-year-old Ballyclare girl Grace McGuigan and her best friend - a five-year-old rescue dog called Oscar - are among the stars of a new TV and online advertising campaign for Pets at Home.
A home video clip of Grace and Oscar bouncing together on a trampoline was chosen by the makers of the ‘My Pet Moments’ advert from more than 13,000 videos and photos uploaded during a social media campaign.
The campaign launched with a three-minute online film and a 60-second commercial on Saturday, May 10 during Britain’s Got Talent, to an estimated audience of 11 million viewers. Pets at Home is now rolling out shorter versions of the commercial throughout the month of May.
According to its makers, the advert “celebrates all of the moments that add up to the happiness of owning a pet.”
Grace’s mum, Michelle McGuigan, was delighted that her clip was chosen for the campaign.
“I’m a very proud mummy,” she told the Times. “We have watched it on repeat about 300 times now, with Grace shouting ‘I’m on TV’. Although Oscar ate through my Sky cable at the weekend, so he could be free to a good home!”
The three-minute film is available to watch on YouTube and has already been viewed by more than 30,000 people.
