ABBEYHILL residents have pleaded with the Roads Service to put speed bumps in the area before a child is seriously injured or killed.
Homeowners have signed a petition and met with the government department to try and get much needed traffic calming measures in the residential area.
Joanne Bennett, who has been the driving force behind the campaign, says there is a serious risk a child could be injured.
“There are over 100 children in the area and there are more younger kids who will be playing in the area in the years to come,” she said
“The road is so wide many motorists don’t realise a child could run out from between the parked cars at any moment.
“We only want two extra speed bumps in the area. The Roads Service is working in the area soon and we have asked that they just continue on into our estate.”
