LAST week’s meeting of the Policing and Community Safety Partnership was the final one with Robert Hill serving as chairman.
The Newtownabbey councillor has finished his term as the chair of the organisation, and now makes way for Ballyclare councillor Jim Bingham.
Mr Hill remains a member of the PCSP, which was formed after the District Policing Partnership and Community Safety Partnership (CSP) merged last year.
He told the Times: “It has been an enjoyable period seeing the new group take shape and develop over the past 12 months.
“Through the public meetings there has been a fantastic amount of information and advice provided and I’d like to thank everyone for their input and the public for turning up.
“Despite the weather for this week’s meeting there was still a good crowd turned up.”
He added: “The recent crime reduction statistics are fantastic news and a testament to the hard work of Chief Inspector Reid and his officers along with the public’s help.
“I was also chair of the CSP for the final year and it has been good seeing the new PCSP come through and develop.
“I’ll be handing over to Jim and know that he has the same energy and drive to make the organisation a success and build on its foundations.”
