HILLSIDE Playgroup, based in Rathfern Community Centre, is making a temporary move to the Church of the Ascension on the Doagh Road.

The Knockenagh Avenue community facility is closing for refurbishment, meaning the playgroup has had to find alternative accommodation.

“Hillside Playgroup has been in Rathfern Community Centre for the last 22 years. In that time many children have passed through the doors, some of whom are now sending their own children back to us,” explained playgroup Manager Janice Stone.

“Due to the centre being refurbished the playgroup will be moving to Cloughfern Parish Church on the Doagh Road, facing Whiteabbey Hospital, while work is ongoing.

“We hope to return to the community centre for September 2013 and continue to provide a much needed service to the pre-school children of the surrounding area.”

Anyone would like more information about the playgroup should telephone 07927 379630.

Meanwhile, Hillside Playgroup will be holding a craft fair on Saturday, November 3 from 11am - 3pm in King’s Park Primary School.

There will be a variety of stalls selling crafts, gifts and jewellery. There will also be a tombola, raffle and much more.

All funds raised at the event will help towards the cost of running the playgroup.

Further details about the craft fair are available by telephoning Elaine Black on 07795 322184 or emailing elaineablack@hotmail.com
