NEWTOWNABBEY Councillor Thomas Hogg has condemned those responsible for vandalism at Rathcoole Primary School.
The Macedon representative said staff returned to the school after the half-term break on Monday to find two windows smashed.
Councillor Hogg, who is also a governor of the school said: “I am disgusted by these acts of wanton vandalism at the school.
“It is hard to comprehend the mindset of anyone who would attack a school in this way.
“The school is a very important educational hub in the upper Rathcoole estate and those responsible for the damage are guilty of an attack chiefly on their own community.
“The school recently received very positive news that funding for our nurture unit is to be extended and this incident will not deter the ongoing improvement of the school.
“I would appeal for anyone with relevant information to pass it to the police who are already investigating the incidents.”
