Newtownabbey customers of Terra Travel have helped raise £5,000 for Barnardo’s NI over the past year by simply booking holidays.

Terra Travel launched its Give a Child a Break scheme last September which saw it donate 2.5 percent to Barnardo’s NI from the sale of every holiday booked.

Terra Travel managing director Damian Murphy said: “We are delighted that our Give a Child a Break initiative has raised £5,000 for Barnardo’s NI to date and appreciate the support of our customers, including those from Newtownabbey.

“By booking through the scheme our customers have been able to go on holiday knowing they have also helped support local vulnerable and disadvantaged children. Terra Travel is committed to continuing its support for Barnardo’s NI and will host a range of new events in aid of the children’s charity over the coming year.”

Leona McEvoy, Barnardo’s NI business development manager, said: “We are thrilled that Terra Travel’s Give a Child a Break scheme has been such a success and we would like to thank everyone who has supported it.

“The money raised will go directly towards Barnardo’s NI work supporting children locally including young carers, children with disabilities and children who have been bereaved.”
