WILSONS Auctions in Mallusk have been instructed to sell an important collection of classic vehicles which once belonged to a past President of East Antrim Old Vehicle Club.

Classic car enthusiast from Glengormley, Donald Davies, who passed away in November last year at the age of 72, left behind a range of interesting and highly collectable vintage vehicles.

Among these are a 1983 Delorean DMC-12, a 1971 VW Karmann Ghia, 1957 Austin Nash Metropolitan, 1956 Berkeley Sports Car, 1956 Bond Mini Car Mark D and 1955 Messerschmitt Tri-Cycle Car.

“The DeLorean Motor Company built their cars in Belfast and it went on to become instantly recognisable after the ‘Back to The Future Films’,” said Gavin Harvey of Wilson Auctions, commenting on the collection of vehicles.

“There is also a rare 1962 Messerschmitt Tri-Cycle. Under a post War ban on aircraft production, Messerschmitt, the German plane manufacturer turned their attention to manufacturing cars and the Tricycle was a result of this diversification.”

The classic car and motorcyle auction will take place on Thursday, April 12 at 6.30pm at Wilson’s auction complex at 22 Mallusk Road. Viewing of the vehicles is possible from 9am on the morning of the auction.

The auction will have Wilson’s ‘Live Online Bidding System’, enabling buyers to participate in the sale if they are unable to attend in person and it will also be accepting limited numbers of other quality classic vehicles subject to the auctioneers’ approval.
