ROADS Service has blamed “inclement weather” for the delay in completing improvement works at the Doagh Road/Old Carrick Road junction near Mossley.
The work to widen the junction and install traffic lights had been scheduled for completion before work began in earnest on the A2 Shore Road dual carriageway project at Greenisland, but Roads Service officials revealed this week that the scheme won’t be finished until later this month.
“The works at Doagh Road /Old Carrick Road were originally planned for completion on March 10, however due to inclement weather conditions work was not finished by that date,” a DRD spokesperson said.
“Work is now complete with the exception of final resurfacing which will take place week beginning April 15 and will last for three days, weather permitting.”
The spokesperson added that traffic lights will be erected at the busy junction “within the next couple of weeks”.
