A serial sex offender was handed a two year and six month prison sentence at Belfast Crown Court last Friday (May 17).
The 35-year-old was convicted of four counts of gross indecency with a child and 10 counts of indecent assault on both young boys and girls.
As well as a custodial term, the man must also serve three years on probation and a sexual offences prevention order was imposed on him.
As part of the terms of the order the man must not have any contact with his victims; associate with a child under 16; not enter into a relationship with a woman without prior disclosure of his convictions; not stay at an address not approved by a designated risk manager or deny the police access to his home.
He must also not work with children as part of the order which carried an Indefinite term. Because the man agreed to take part in a community sex offender programme his jail term was reduced by half from five years.
Reporting restrictions were placed on identifing the individual which, as well as applying to media, also covers social media platforms.
