The island’s community association is seeking the right person or persons to run this exciting new venture, and to come and live on Northern Ireland’s only inhabited offshore island.

Rathlin, with a steadily growing population of around 140, has a busy tourist industry and modern transport and communications infrastructure, but retains its old fashioned sense of community and is renowned worldwide for its beautiful scenery and abundance of wildlife.

Michael Cecil, Chair of the Rathlin Development & Community Association said: “This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a thriving community that would suit a management couple or individual looking for a new challenge, or indeed an operator with a small to medium chain of hotels and guest inns, looking to expand their portfolio”.

The eighteenth century Manor House building is being completely refurbished as part of a project financed by the Coastal Communities Fund, and will re-open this summer as a three star guest inn.

The Manor House has 12 bedrooms, and a licensed restaurant with a fantastic opportunity to emphasise local produce and seasonality. Accommodation for the operator is included. This new Manor House guest inn will play a key role in developing a sustainable economy for the Rathlin Island community.
