Welcome for park warden service

I WOULD like to welcome the council's decision to ratify the Leisure Committee's proposal for the trial of a park warden service for the borough which will provide a mobile service around our parks and pavilions.

The service will include high visibility foot patrols which will enhance the council's fight against littering, dog fouling and illegal dumping. It will include patrols at evenings and weekends when problems are most prevalent.

Our wardens will work closely with police to provide cleaner and safer areas for families to enjoy.

I know this service will be welcomed by people living close to our parks and by all those who regularly use our facilities. The service will make these areas more inviting to local visitors and those from further afield.

Councillor Robert Hill (University Area).
