Local boys travel to England for quiz finals

MEMBERS of the Boys’ Brigade in Carnmoney and Ballyclare competed against companies from across England, Scotland and Wales in the UK National Masterquiz Finals recently.

The boys from the 4th Newtownabbey at Carnmoney Presbyterian Church and 1st Ballyclare from Ballyclare Presbyterian Church travelled to Luton on the weekend of April 14 and 15.

After competing in regional heats the two teams were selected to represent Ireland in the final of the competition.

At the finals, held in the Boys’ Brigade headquarters in Luton, the team from Newtownabbey finished fourth and the team from Ballyclare finished sixth.

They were all presented with medals by the Member of Parliament for Luton North, Kelvin Hopkins.
