MALLUSK Enterprise Park hosted a special open day recently to offer help and advice to local businesses.

The informal event, which aimed to encourage business owners to overcome their concerns about seeking assistance, was attended by the Mayor of Newtownabbey, alderman Billy Webb.

During the event, advice was offer on from Gren Armstrong, Manager of the North East Regional Office of Invest NI, Paula Dickson, Client Executive, and Mallusk Enterprise Park’s business team headed by CEO Melanie Humphrey.

Each adviser saw businesses on an individual basis, and more than 30 tenant businesses from the business park met together over a networking lunch and chatted to the Mayor and Invest NI about the current business challenges and opportunities.

Gren Armstrong explained: “Invest NI is very pleased to be involved with Mallusk Enterprise Park in this new initiative aimed at helping small businesses in Newtownabbey and we look forward to further developing on our good working relationship.”

Alderman Webb has put local business at the top of his agenda. In his Mayoral role this year he has been out and about continually meeting with small businesses from all over the borough and from all business sectors.

“I was very pleased to have this opportunity to talk to business owners to hear at first hand the challenges they face, and how the council might help. I was told by many how they appreciate the support they receive from Mallusk Enterprise Park and I congratulate the Park for putting on this event,” he said.
