A group of runners from Belfast City Mission in Rathcoole completed the Belfast City Marathon and Marathon Relay on May 5 to raise funds for the Burkina Faso School of Grace project.

A group of 16 young people and leaders from the mission hall will be setting off to Africa from July 9 - 25 to help with much-needed work at the School of Grace.

The team have been raising money during the past year to enable them to take out various supplies and equipment.

To date they have raised more than £26,000.

On May 5, two relay teams and four individuals - Dennis Murray, David Hunter, Glenn Hinchey and Elaine Neill - conquered the Belfast City Marathon and by doing raised around £2,000 for the cause.

The group of young people from Belfast City Mission hope their trip to Burkina Faso - one of the poorest countries in the world - will make a real difference to the children in the School of Grace.
