UUP Councillor Mark Cosgrove says that he is ‘delighted’ to have gained a seat on the new Antrim and Newtownabbey super Council.

Mr Cosgrove topped the poll with 1,193 first presference votes, surpassing the quota of 929.

He told the Times: “I am looking forward to working with everybody else that has been elected.

“It has been a good election for our party in general and I am looking forward to the rest of the count to see if we can get my running mate Michael Maguire in.”
